Evidence
Evidence retrieves a transaction's containing block, execution result, execution path, asset movements, and state proof (merkle proof) data, so you can reconstruct them as audit evidence.
Audits and dispute handling require records that reproduce whether a transaction actually occurred and what its result was. A transaction hash alone cannot prove this. By preserving evidence data per transaction with Evidence, you can respond to audit requests based on the original data.
Use Cases
- Finance & AccountingExternal Audit Submission
For each transaction under audit, bundle the containing block, execution result, and asset movement data as supporting records. Presenting the original data alongside the transaction hash reduces the effort of responding to audits.
- Finance & AccountingPoint-in-Time Balance Proof
Prove the balance of an EVM account at the closing block with a merkle proof. You can present the chain state itself as evidence, rather than an API query result.
- Service OpsCustomer Dispute Handling
Answer missing-withdrawal inquiries based on the transaction's containing block and the actual asset movements. Using on-chain data lets you present consistent evidence in disputes.
